Our experience goes back almost 40 years, having represented the best companies in the holiday accommodation industry, particularly Thomas Cook Holidays, where both standards and expectations were high. Over time, following a spate of close to a decade representing this and other holiday companies, we moved on to catering to students who visited Malta to study English and also to long-let rentals; and while this also was a very interesting time, it somehow left out the charm and attraction that short let holiday makers tend to regal you with. While the work involving holiday tourists is certainly more demanding, strenuous, and competetive, it is the excitment of meeting wonderful and a diversified people which makes this work so enticing and interesting. It was for this very reason that we again moved back to hosting holiday makers, this time not through the major holiday companies, but organizing something in-house, something unique, something which leaves nothing to chance; a service that is family-run, personalized, and one that exercises careful attention to detail.
Starting off with just one apartment around 10 years ago, the success of the venture soon compelled us to expand our property base to a larger number, currently totalling 9 different types of accommodation, all with their own charm, attraction, and varied price brackets, ranging from those which are budget studios to 5-star and luxury maisonettes.
While it would have been easier to have a large building of around 10 apartments to cater for our guests, all similar in nature, size, price, and style, we felt that such an offer would be mostly faceless and dull. Instead we searched for an array of properties which we knew would best meet our guests’ requirements, something that would have the ‘wow’ affect upon stepping into the property, a home-away-from which would continually serve our guests thoughtout their stay, and that the only regret they would have would be the day they leave, with the promise of coming back again, or even sending friends or family, in the future.
The hundreds of reviews for our properties have all commended us on the services our guests received. We profess loyalty and honesty to our guests and this is one of the reasons why we continue to have so many repeat visitors.
Although we advertize on numerous international holiday websites, such as HomeAway, TripAdvisor, Holiday Lettings, Ownersdirect, Abritel, FeWo-direkt, Homelidays, VRBO, Flipkey, Niumba and others, we also felt the need to promote our own website which is a culmination of not just our properties, but also of local events, excursions, cultural experiences and many other things that our guests can do and explore during their stay.
Our properties have all been named and categorized according to the different colour schemes that these are furnished with, and so it makes it easier on our guests to remember the name of where they will be staying, together with the shades that will be surrounding them during their stay.
Our villa apartments, Yellow, Orange and Sky Blue (also collectively called Colours) can accommodate up to 17 people (properties can be either rented out individually or else as a complete package for a large group of friends or family); Colours, located in Madliena, a tranquil hamlet just 2 kms from St. Julians, offer beautifully landscaped gardens, large swimming pool with its own dedicated solar heating system so as to maximise its use throughout most of the year, gazebos, chill-out areas, barbeques, garden furniture, hammock, swing, and many other features that are too numerous to mention. The pool also has its own grotto with cascading water curtaining its entrance. The gardens also have a turtle pond, plus another larger pond with cascading waters for a our giant koi fish. One of our youngest guests had proudly labelled the garden area as a ‘fairytale setting’.
All other apartments are located in the most strategic and popular towns and cities on the island, all of which provide seaviews. Our Gold apartment in Sliema is a prime example of exuberance and style. Gold is located in the best part of town on a pedestrianized road, surrounded by restaurants, cafes, designer shops, malls, bars, etc. and across the road from the bus service and the ferry boats which tour the island, visit Comino, and from where you can catch a harbour cruises. Gold offers 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, romantically set jacuzzi in its own alcove, open plan lounge/ dining/kitchen together with snooker table and small bar, and balcony with seaviews, and can sleep up to 8 people.
Sands, located in the St. George’s Bay area in St. Julians, is a stunning ground floor villa maisonette which offers abundant space and light, a modern finish throughout with parquet tile flooring in every room (measuring an astounding 140sqm); open-plan kitchen/sitting/dining, modern bathroom and additional en-suite, 2 large bedrooms sleep 6 (3 sofabeds in lounge and another 2 in lounge extension area which overlooks the front walkways and beach, sleep another 8 persons). Sands boasts a 46′ LCD TV, DVD, 5+1 music system, and wifi internet connection and free fixed line telephony (Malta only), surrounded by furniture that exudes comfort, elegance and style. To compliment this property, a back garden, measuring 85sqm houses a heated 2.2m x 2.2m heated Jacuzzi spa for 6 people with gazebo cover, portable gas barbeque, garden furniture, hammock, deckchairs, and both sunbathing and shaded areas. Located away from the crowded scene but close enough just the same, Sands is tucked away in a quite niche for great family entertainment. A true gem, definitely a place to fall in love with.
Our Aqua apartment located in St. Paul’s Bay, with fantastic seaviews of the harbour and the islands beyond offers the most stunning landscapes, almost giving one the feeling of being on a cruise liner from its breathtaking vantage point. Aqua is a duplex penthouse, on 2 floors, and so offers both a balcony on the lower level, and a terrace with barbeque, table and chairs on the upper level. Aqua has 2 main bedroom, 2 bathroom, 2 lounge areas, and complete kitchen. A large sofabed for 2 people is located in upper floor. Aqua can sleep a maximum of 8 people.
Following the popularity of Aqua, we decided to acquire the apartment next door and so benefitting from the same magnificent views that Aqua enjoys. Pink offers 2 double bedrooms, en suite bathroom and another guest bathroom, kitchen, together with open-plan dining and lounge area. One major attraction about this apartment is that it also offers a roof terrace with even more views, and this practically receives the sun for most of the day. This is equipped with sun-loungers, table and chairs, barbeque, floor mats, and equally important, expansive seaviews.
This year we have also partnered with one of Malta’s most exlusive boat charterers, where our guests can opt for various options, both to live-in and also for using the two boats, the ‘Rio’ and the Silver Diamond’ for day trips, visiting the numerous coves, caves, beaches and ports that Malta so proudly boasts of, giving our guests the opportunity of seeing Malta from a different perspective, and of living the life of a star.
